Chalice of Eternal Life

John’s gospel is likewise a profound exploration of unwavering faith, gripping our hearts with his opening contemplations: “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God…” From this transcendent beginning, John frames Christ’s ministry in a way that compels us at each moment to wrestle with his identity as the Son of God.

Many of these passages serve as our spiritual guide throughout Lent. As we reflect on them in these sacred days, how will we open our hearts to the chalice of eternal life that Christ offers to each of us?
