Monday of the Fifth Week of Lent
Notre Dame Liturgical Choir – The University of Notre Dame Liturgical Choir is composed of approximately 70 undergraduate and graduate student singers and sings at the 10 A.M. Sunday Mass in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart.
We often describe God as “love,” which is an accurate description of our Creator according to the first Letter of John. Yet, how often do we contemplate the depth of that love? A love that gives itself to us fully, even unto death on a cross. This is the love that God has for each of us and invites us to share with others. Still, it is not for the faint of heart; it is a demanding love that requires faith in the living God. How can we try to love as God loves and bring the love of God to others?
(Lyrics)
Latin
Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est
Congregavit nos in unum Christi amor
Exultemus, et in ipso iucundemur
Timeamus, et amemus Deum vivum
Et ex corde diligamus nos sincero
Amen.
English
Where charity and love are, God is there.
Christ’s love has gathered us into one.
Let us rejoice and be pleased in Him.
Let us fear, and let us love the living God.
And may we love each other with a sincere heart.
Amen.
