Wednesday of Holy Week
Notre Dame Folk Choir – The Folk Choir serves the University of Notre Dame as one of the principal liturgical choirs, singing every Sunday during the academic year at the 11:45 A.M. Mass in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart.
On Wednesday of Holy Week, we remember Jesus’ prediction of Judas’ betrayal. Even though Jesus knew that he would be handed over to death by one of his closest disciples, he kept his faith in the Father and trusted that God would provide the strength and courage he needed to endure to the end. This song reminds us that Jesus is our light and our salvation. Now that he has suffered the cross and risen to new life, he becomes our strength and our courage in times of trouble. If we trust in the Lord, whom shall we fear?
(Lyrics)
The Lord is my light, and my salvation.
The Lord is my light, and my salvation.
The Lord is my light, and my salvation.
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is my light, and my salvation.
The Lord is my light, and my salvation.
The Lord is my light, and my salvation.
Whom shall I fear?
In the time of trouble, he shall hide me.
In the time of trouble, he shall hide me.
In the time of trouble, he shall hide me.
Whom shall I fear?
In the time of trouble, he shall hide me.
In the time of trouble, he shall hide me.
In the time of trouble, he shall hide me.
Whom shall I fear?
Whom shall I fear? Whom shall I fear?
God is the strength of my life.
Whom shall I fear?
Wait on the Lord, and be of good courage.
Wait on the Lord, and be of good courage.
Wait on the Lord, and be of good courage.
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength.
The Lord is the strength.
The Lord is the strength.
The Lord is the strength, of my life.
So, whom shall I fear?
