Loving God, we remember and honor all of those men and women who sacrificed their lives for the cause of freedom. May their bold service remind us of our duty to protect all human life and support those who pursue liberty and justice.
Bless in a special way the families of those who have sacrificed life and limb in service to our country, as well as the innocent victims of war. Comfort those who mourn, bring peace to those in turmoil, and embrace with love those who suffer.
As we work to end injustice and violence throughout the world, help us to faithfully follow your Son, Jesus Christ, who is the source of mercy and peace. Amen.
