A Final Assurance

This is Christ’s final healing miracle before the Passion—a profound foreshadowing of his own resurrection. A final assurance —no matter the trials ahead, Christ holds power over sin, death, and darkness.

In moments of grief, we may echo Mary’s lament regarding the death of her brother: “Lord, if you had been here…” In this season of Lent, we humbly examine where in our lives we hold onto resentment or disappointment when God’s presence does not manifest as we expect. How can we invite Christ to grieve with us, to restore us, and to transform our sorrow through the power of his resurrection?
