Prayer for the Dying

God of compassion, as your Son was dying, your faithful servant Veronica wiped his face and offered him comfort. May those facing the end of their earthly life also find loving support as they await the promise of eternal life.

Help them restore and strengthen their relationships, that they may go forth from this life wrapped in love and without regret. Grant them peace, and relieve them of all fear. Until they are united again, may they and those who love them trust in the restorative power of the resurrection.

We ask this through Jesus Christ, your Son and the Lord of all life. Amen.
