Sts. Hermes and Adrian

These two Christians were martyred with 24 other people in 290 in North Africa. Little else is known of them, but they were praised by St. Augustine, who was also from North Africa, so the witness of their lives and their courage in death built up the Church there.
The relics of these two saints rest in the reliquary chapel in the Basilica.
Sts. Hermes and Adrian, whose courage to die for their faith built the Church in North Africa, pray for us!
